HELGA Plankensteiner , baritone sax and vocalsHelga Plankensteiner studied classical saxophone at the Conservatory in Innsbruck with Florian Bramböck and jazz at the Conservatory of Trento. He has attended numerous seminars jazz , among other things with Dick Oats , Steve Slagle , Gary Bartz, Bobby Watson, Bob Bonisolo , Heinrich von Kalnein and Sandro Gibellini .He plays in several international jazz festivals including the Nice Jazz Festival , Verona Jazz, Alpentoene (CH) , Jazzfestival Krakau , Danzig ( PL ), San Sebastian (E) , Alpenjazzfestival (D) , Jazzfestival Bucharest (RO) , Veneto Jazz, Villa Celimontana Rom u. v. . m .It is a permanent member of the Carla Bley Big Band (USA) , the Torino Jazz Orchestra with soloists such as Tom Harrell , Dusko Goykovich , Valery Ponomarev , Francesco Cafiso and Uri Caine , the Dani Felber Big Band (CH) and the Italian Sax Ensemble. Also directs the orchestra "SWEET ALPS " with soloists such as Gianluigi Trovesi, Florian Bramböck , Michel Godard , Gianluca Petrella und Matthias Schriefl .In 2009 she was nominated by the magazine Musica Jazz among the ten best new talent. His current projects are Fifth Side, an international women's group with Francesca Hart Ilona Damiencka , El Mauro Ottolini with Organic Porcini , Paolo Map and Michl Lösch , Helga Plankensteiner Quintet with Achille Succi , a tribute to Frida Kahlo , PLANKTON with Mattias Schriefl and Gerhard Gschlößl . With his Trio presents both original songs and songs that standard revisited .
